Meet Our Principal

Estèe Kelly is the Principal of Gary Comer College Prep.  Ms. Kelly is responsible for ensuring that the high school’s mission of being the best high school in the country at graduating our scholar population from college is realized. 

Prior to becoming the principal of GCCP, Ms. Kelly founded Gary Comer College Prep Middle School in 2011 and served as the principal there for four years. Before joining Noble, Ms. Kelly served as the Principal of KIPP Indianapolis College Prep, a 5-8 middle school located in the inner-city of Indianapolis, IN. 

Ms. Kelly entered the field of education as a 2003 Teach for America corps member in St. Louis, MO.  During her two-year commitment with Teach for America she taught a kindergarten through second grade cross-categorical special education classroom.  Following her two-year commitment, Ms. Kelly joined Galapagos Charter School, located on the West Side of Chicago, in its founding year where she taught third grade her first two years and fifth grade during her third year.  After dedicating three years to the students of Galapagos Charter School, she applied to and was accepted into New Leaders for New Schools—Chicago, Cohort 8.  New Leaders for New Schools partners with the Chicago Public Schools to prepare exceptional leaders for the district.  She served as a Resident Principal at Legacy Charter School.  During her residency, Ms. Kelly earned her M.A. in Educational Leadership and Type 75 administrator’s certification through National-Louis University.  She is an alumnus of DePaul University, where she received her B.A. in Political Science.
